“Martin Had To Pull LPTV Must-Carry Plan
FCC Chief Fails To Obtain Enough Votes To Ensure Passage
By Ted Hearn — Multichannel News, 10/18/2008 12:17:00 AM MT
Washington—Short on votes, Federal Communications Commission chairman Kevin Martin last week dropped a plan designed to force cable operators to carry hundreds of low-power TV stations for the first time.
Martin wanted the agency to vote on the plan last Wednesday in Nashville, Tenn., but he decided against going forward last Tuesday afternoon after failing to obtain two votes in addition to his to ensure passage.
The FCC’s meeting was to include testimony from low-power television executives from around the country. Dozens of them needlessly traveled to Nashville, even though Martin knew as early as last Monday that his plan was doomed.”

**** I am using it right now with a Kensington orbit serial Track Ball! Sometimes the right click screen flashes though.
” There are new and innovative pointing devices that just don’t have room for a scroll wheel. Users are frustrated, everyone complains about it, and there is no apparent solution. Unless you remember Pointix Scroll ++. Unfortunately, I couldn’t even activate the version I purchased because the company is long gone. I tried to contact the original copyright holder, but had no luck (it’s just a generic spam-like advertising site now.). Since the US Copyright Office has given approval to share abandoned software, I’m posting for download Pointix Scroll ++ version 2.05 for Windows (including activation) for anyone else who may need it. Below are details on how to install it and activate it.”
