Viewing and editting code in HTML, and PHP, CSS, files of course can be done in windows note pad, but if you like colored tags to help separate content in your mind, and line numbers to remember where you are at well its time to step up to one of these. I like notepad2 its just a little above notepad but to me thats a good thing.
